FSS programmes retain full accreditation status
All the programmes of the Faculty of Social Sciences assessed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) Teams during the November/December 2019 Accreditation Exercise have retained their full accreditation status. Results of the exercise were contained in a letter recently sent to the Vice-Chancellor by the NUC.
B.Sc. programmes in Demography and Social Statistics, Economics, Geography as well as Sociology and Anthropology retained their FULL accreditation status, and will operate as fully accredited for the next five years. Political Science and Psychology previously secured FULL accreditation status in 2017.
In a reaction to the news of the success of the exercise, the Dean, Professor Peter Ogunjuyigbe, expressed appreciation to staff and students of the Faculty for the zeal and enthusiasm with which activities relating to the exercise were carried out. He also thanked the University administration, former students, friends of the Faculty and well wishers for various forms of support.
Prof. Ogunjuyigbe reiterated that the Faculty would continue to prioritise the pursuit of excellence in all areas.
