FSS SOLICITS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM ALUMNI, FRIENDS FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS
The Faculty of Social Sciences has issued a call for assistance from former students and friends with respect to meeting important needs critical to the functioning of the Faculty. In a letter signed by the Chairman of the Funds Raising Committee as well as the Dean, the Faculty noted that ‘[i]ncrease in students enrolment, year in year out, has put a lot of pressure on the Faculty’s existing facilities. The Faculty building, initially built to accommodate about five hundred, now caters for over five thousand students. The faculty has been overused and now needs a face lift.’
The Call noted that Alumni, either individually or set, could donate in cash or kind. The projects to be executed, as stated in the letter, are: renovation and painting of the Faculty building (10 million naira), provision of more toilet facilities for students (5 million), a 15-30-seat Coaster Bus for field trips (25 -50 million) and a 500-Capacity E-Library (20 million).
The letter, showing the details of the projects as well as how to donate in cash and kind, can be downloaded here.
